Botanical Illustration Studio: Exploring Appropriate Backgrounds for Botanical Art

This studio session gives aspiring botanical artists dedicated time to develop their skills in a welcoming, hands-on environment. During the three-hour session, you'll work on your own projects while two experienced instructors circulate to offer personalized feedback, answer your questions, and help you refine your techniques. The session's theme focuses specifically on how to choose and execute backgrounds that complement botanical artwork. This class is designed for students currently enrolled in the Lewis Ginter Botanical Illustration Certificate Program, as well as anyone who has completed the Introduction to Botanical Drawing I course. Participation costs $50 for Garden members or $63 for non-members. If you need any accommodations to participate comfortably, the Garden welcomes requests—just reach out to them ahead of time. The instructors bring deep expertise: both are certified botanical artists with years of formal training and exhibition experience.
