Create a Nicho

Discover nichos, the beautiful shadow box folk art tradition found throughout Latin America. During this program, you'll learn about the origins of nichos and explore how this art form has changed over time. Then you'll create your own shadow box to take home—whether you want to honor someone special, display treasured keepsakes, or celebrate your favorite interests. This hands-on event is part of the library's Hispanic Heritage Month celebration and welcomes middle and high school teens. Registration is required, and space is limited to 12 participants. An online meeting link will be sent to you via email after you sign up. If you have questions or need any accommodations to participate, reach out to the library staff beforehand.
