CURRENT

CURRENT exhibition at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond.

Local painter Terrie Powers is showcasing a collection called Current at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. The exhibition features her luminous paintings and mixed-media works created in her Bon Air studio, each piece drawing inspiration from nature's interconnectedness and peaceful rhythms. Powers layers painting with graphite, charcoal, and pastel to explore themes of movement, light, texture, and how water, sky, trees, and stone all relate to one another. With more than forty years of artistic practice, Powers invites visitors into contemplative spaces through her work. Her pieces are held in collections at VCU Health and the Children's Hospital of Richmond, and she's been recognized with Richmond's Woman in the Arts Award. You can view the exhibition during regular garden hours anytime between early July and late August—it's a wonderful opportunity to experience thoughtful nature-inspired artwork while enjoying the botanical garden itself.
