DIY Floating Butterfly Ornaments
Create floating butterfly ornaments at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.
Create a beautiful keepsake you'll treasure for years to come at this hands-on ornament-making workshop. Led by lepidopterist Clara Aus, you'll craft three floating butterfly ornaments while learning fascinating facts about butterfly life cycles, wing adaptations, and natural history. The butterfly specimens used are ethically sourced from the Garden's Butterflies Bloom Exhibit, having completed their full natural lifespan. All materials are provided, and no prior crafting experience is needed—just bring yourself and something to write with.
This workshop suits anyone who loves nature and wants to make a meaningful holiday gift or personal treasure. Members pay $66 and non-members $83. Pre-registration is required through the Garden's website. If you need accessibility accommodations to participate, reach out to the Garden at the contact information provided, and they'll work with you to make adjustments. Clara will have a variety of butterfly species available during class, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
