Don’t Be a Chicken of Chicken Wire: Creating Sustainable Designs

Learn how to move beyond traditional floral foam and build beautiful, eco-friendly arrangements using chicken wire as your structural foundation. Led by instructor Kate Hugo Vernon, this hands-on workshop teaches you techniques for supporting delicate flowers—like dahlias, zinnias, and cosmos—while keeping them properly hydrated and exactly where you want them. You'll discover how to achieve refined, intentional designs that are both environmentally conscious and artfully compelling. All floral materials are provided for the class. Just bring your own pruning clippers and a container between 4 and 6 inches wide. This workshop welcomes all skill levels, whether you're new to floral design or looking to expand your existing techniques. Registration is required in advance through the garden's website.
