Making Your Backyard a Bird Habitat

Making Your Backyard a Bird Habitat

Learn to attract birds to your yard with master naturalists from the Feminist Bird Club.

Join expert naturalists from the Feminist Bird Club of Richmond to discover practical ways to turn your outdoor space into a welcoming haven for birds. You'll learn proven strategies for supporting local bird populations right in your own backyard. The session combines an indoor presentation in the meeting room with a guided birding walk on nearby paved trails—weather permitting. Binoculars are provided for anyone who needs them during the outdoor portion, so don't worry about bringing your own equipment. This program is designed for adults and seniors interested in wildlife, gardening, or simply enjoying nature closer to home. No special expertise is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn. The event is made possible through support from the Friends of the Library, a community organization dedicated to enhancing library programming.
