No Soil Needed: Epiphyte Mounting, Care, and Display Design

Learn about tropical plants that grow without soil in this two-hour hands-on workshop led by Clare Reines, the Garden's Conservatory Horticulturist. You'll explore fascinating epiphytic varieties like orchids, bromeliads, ferns, and cacti, discovering how they naturally thrive in their native environments. The class covers the basics of epiphyte ecology, explores different plant groups, and teaches you the practical skills needed to keep these unusual plants healthy at home. During the session, you'll work directly with mounting materials and display techniques while building your own living epiphyte arrangement to take home. All supplies are provided. Registration is required in advance through the Garden's website. Admission costs $63 for members and $79 for non-members.
