OBC | 2026 Slave Trail Walk.
This guided walking tour invites families to explore Richmond's history along the historic Slave Trail. Organized by the Office for Black Catholics of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, the event welcomes participants of all faiths and backgrounds. The experience runs about three and a half hours, beginning with a shuttle ride from the Pastoral Center to Manchester Docks, where the trail begins. After completing the walk, participants return to the Pastoral Center for a light lunch together.
This event focuses on learning difficult but important stories from Richmond's past and deepening understanding of the city's history. It's designed for older teens and adults who are able to walk the full distance; the organizers note that the event is not recommended for children under 14 or for anyone who uses mobility devices like wheelchairs or walkers. Tickets are refundable up to a week before the event.
