Paws to Read

Paws to Read

Read stories with visiting therapy dogs at the library.

Does your child enjoy reading aloud but feel a little nervous doing so? This program offers a supportive, low-pressure environment where kids ages 6–11 take turns reading to a specially trained literacy therapy dog. There's something about sharing stories with a calm, attentive furry listener that helps young readers build confidence and fluency in a fun way. Registration is required to participate, and spots are limited—only a few seats remain. You can sign up online or by calling the library. Once registered, expect a confirmation call the day before the event to verify your child's attendance. This helps the library manage the waitlist and ensures everyone who wants to participate has a chance to join in.
