Plant, Design & Grow: Fall Container Garden Workshop

Plant, Design & Grow: Fall Container Garden Workshop in Richmond

Join instructor Danny Cox for a hands-on autumn gardening experience at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. You'll learn the basics of container design—from plant combinations to spacing—then create your own fall arrangement using carefully selected plants chosen for their seasonal color and texture. All the soil, fertilizer, and plants you need are provided. Your finished design will be planted in a standard planting sleeve that fits a 12.5-inch ceramic pot, making it simple to transport and drop into a container at home. This workshop welcomes gardeners of any experience level. Come prepared to get your hands dirty: wear closed-toe shoes, bring gloves if you prefer them, and pack a water bottle. If you'd like your arrangement to fit a specific container, bring along measurements of its internal diameter and height, plus a photo. Pre-registration is required. Member admission is $72; non-members pay $90. The Garden is committed to accessibility—if you need any accommodations to participate, contact them at [email protected] or 804-262-9887 ext. 328.
