READ to Maggie at Atlee

Kids in kindergarten through third grade can sign up for a special 15-minute reading session with Maggie, a therapy dog who loves listening to stories. This is a wonderful opportunity for children who are building confidence as readers or who feel nervous about reading aloud—Maggie is a patient, encouraging audience with no judgment at all. Your child will read to her during their scheduled slot at the library's Storytime Room. To register your child, call the Atlee Branch Library at 804-559-0654 or stop by in person. If your family has accessibility needs or communication requirements, reach out to ask@pamunkeylibrary.org or the branch directly, and staff will work with you to make the experience comfortable. Registration is required to participate.
