Seasonal Greens in Colored Pencil and Micron Pen

Seasonal Greens in Colored Pencil and Micron Pen in Richmond

Spend a full day creating beautiful botanical artwork featuring winter evergreens like holly, pine, juniper, and magnolia. You'll work with colored pencils and fine-tip pens to produce plant portraits that you can frame, turn into custom holiday cards, or use for other projects. The instructor will also cover scanning and reproduction techniques if you're interested in having cards professionally printed. Whether you bring your own supplies or use what's provided, you'll have access to various papers and cardstock to work with. This class works best for adults with some drawing experience—prior completion of a colored pencil basics class or equivalent is suggested. The instructor, Gail Goodrich Harwood, is an accomplished botanical artist with extensive training and exhibition experience. Registration is required in advance through the garden's website. Pricing is $66 for members and $83 for non-members. If you need any accommodations to participate, the garden welcomes requests made in advance. This class also counts toward the garden's Botanical Illustration Certificate Program if you're working toward that credential.
