Seeing Color
Seasonal garden experience celebrating color at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.
This October, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is hosting an exhibit that celebrates how we each experience color in nature. The show was inspired by people with color vision deficiencies and invites everyone to explore the fascinating relationship between colors and textures. Artist Beth Anne Booth's work will be on display in the Robin's Visitor Center Gallery throughout the month.
The exhibit encourages visitors of all ages to think about their own experience of color while learning that not everyone sees the world the same way. Color serves important purposes in nature—signaling seasons, offering protection to wildlife, and drawing attraction—but how we perceive it varies from person to person. The installation offers a chance to sit with this idea and discover how your senses work together when you're in nature. You'll experience it during regular garden hours, so it works well for a casual family visit.
