Seymour’s Little School – Downtown

Preschool-focused program at Children's Museum of Richmond—play-based learning for little ones.

Seymour's Little School is a weekly program at the Children's Museum of Richmond's Downtown location where young learners dive into foundational skills in a structured, playful environment. Led by Family Engagement Manager Ali, each session covers important school routines—circle time, story time, and movement activities—alongside social-emotional learning like sharing, listening, and taking turns. Your child will also build gross motor skills through music and movement experiences designed to prepare them for the classroom ahead. The program welcomes children ages 3–5 and their caregivers. No advance registration is needed, though spots are limited to 12 children per session, so arriving early is a good idea. Best of all, participation is included with your general admission to the museum, so there's no extra fee. It's a wonderful way for young learners to build confidence and connections in a supportive setting.
