Silver Screen Saturdays

Silent-film classic starring Charlie Chaplin at Henrico County Public Library.

Join us for an afternoon of classic cinema! Silver Screen Saturdays features beloved films from Hollywood's golden age, spanning the 1920s through 1970s. This month, we're showing Charlie Chaplin's "Modern Times" (1936), a G-rated comedy where the Little Tramp works as a hapless factory employee and falls for a charming young woman. This is a wonderful chance to experience this timeless film on the big screen—a rare treat for fans of silent-era comedy. Before and after the screening, our staff will share interesting facts about the movie's production and history, giving you a richer understanding of the film and its place in cinema. The program runs about two hours total. This event welcomes teens (high school) and adults who appreciate classic movies and want to explore Hollywood's creative heritage in a relaxed, community setting.
