STEAM: Playing with Your Food

Explore the science behind food in this hands-on STEAM activity for K–5 students.

This hands-on STEAM program invites elementary students in kindergarten through fifth grade to discover the science hiding in everyday foods. Accompanied by a parent or caregiver, kids will explore how their favorite foods work from a scientific perspective. The session combines learning and curiosity in an engaging, food-focused format designed to spark interest in both science and nutrition. The library will have informational books available for families to check out, giving you resources to continue the exploration at home. This is a great way to combine learning with snacks and fun conversation around the dinner table. For questions about the program, reach out to the Twin Hickory Area Library events team.
