Stories from the Streets

Storytelling program exploring local street histories.

Stories from the Streets is a writing workshop open to adults of all experience levels—whether you've never written before or consider yourself a seasoned writer. Facilitated by Matt Shaw from Speak Up Magazine, a publication created by people experiencing homelessness, this workshop welcomes everyone in a judgment-free space. You'll participate in guided discussion and work through writing prompts designed to spark your creativity and get your ideas flowing. The workshop provides all the materials you need, including a notebook and pen. It's completely free to attend, and there's no registration required—just show up and join the conversation. The group is limited to 25 people, so spots are first-come, first-served. This program is part of the library's commitment to arts and creative learning, helping participants explore their own creative expression and thinking.
