VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown
VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown at Downtown Location
VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor sharing real research happening through the National Living Lab network. Led by Dr. Marcia Winter and later joined by Dr. Virginia Chu from VCU's Department of Occupational Therapy, these demonstrations offer families a chance to watch the research process in action and learn how scientists study child development. Later in the semester, the team will also conduct live one-on-one studies focused on children's pre-writing skills.
This isn't your typical museum activity—it's an opportunity to observe hands-on research or participate if your family is interested. Sessions run multiple times throughout the week on select Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If you'd like your child to take part in a live study, know that these are individual and one-on-one, with only one family participating at a time. It's a unique way for curious kids and parents to see science happening and contribute to meaningful research.
