VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown
VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown at Downtown Location
VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor sharing research demonstrations as part of the National Living Lab network. Led by Dr. Marcia Winter, these student-conducted activities offer a behind-the-scenes look at how researchers study child development and learning. Families can stop by to watch the demonstrations and learn about the research process firsthand—it's a great way to see real science in action.
Later in the semester, families with consent may also participate in one-on-one live studies focused on children's pre-writing skills, guided by Dr. Virginia Chu from VCU's Department of Occupational Therapy. Keep in mind this is a specialized program, not a general museum activity, and live study sessions are limited to one family at a time. Sessions run on select mornings and afternoons throughout the week, so check the schedule to find a time that works for you.
