VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown

VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown at Downtown Location

VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor conducting research demonstrations as part of the National Living Lab network. Led by Dr. Marcia Winter, these students share findings from their studies and explain how research works. Later in the semester, Dr. Virginia Chu's occupational therapy team will also invite families to participate in a live one-on-one study focused on children's pre-writing skills—participation is entirely optional and by consent. Visitors can drop by anytime during operating hours to watch the demonstrations and learn about the research process. If your family is interested in participating in the live study, know that it's a one-on-one experience with limited availability. This isn't a general museum activity, so come with the understanding that you'll be observing real research in action. It's a neat way for kids to see what university research looks like behind the scenes.
