VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown

VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown at Downtown Location

VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor sharing research demonstrations as part of the National Living Lab network. Led by Dr. Marcia Winter, these students will explain their studies and give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at how research actually works. You're welcome to drop by anytime during the session to observe and learn, even if you're just passing through the museum. Later in the semester, families will also have the chance to participate in a one-on-one live study focused on children's pre-writing skills, led by Dr. Virginia Chu from VCU's Department of Occupational Therapy. If your family is interested in taking part in the study, you'll need to provide consent, and participation happens individually rather than in groups. This isn't a typical museum activity—it's a real research experience where you can see science in action and contribute to the work being done by VCU students and faculty.
