VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown
Hands-on research demos from VCU at Children's Museum of Richmond downtown.
VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor conducting research demonstrations as part of the National Living Lab network, led by Dr. Marcia Winter. You and your family are welcome to observe these demonstrations and learn about how research actually works. Later in the semester, Dr. Virginia Chu's team from VCU's Department of Occupational Therapy will also be running a live study focused on children's pre-writing skills—families interested in participating can take part in one-on-one sessions with researchers.
This isn't a typical drop-in activity, so it's best suited for families curious about the research process itself. If you'd like to observe only, you can stop by anytime during the scheduled hours. If you're interested in having your child participate in the live study, that happens one family at a time by appointment. This is a wonderful opportunity to see real science in action and support university research while you're at the museum.
