VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown

VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown at Downtown Location

VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor sharing research demonstrations as part of the National Living Lab network. Led by Dr. Marcia Winter, these students will explain their studies and walk visitors through the research process. Later in the semester, Dr. Virginia Chu's occupational therapy team will also conduct a live study focused on children's pre-writing skills. Families interested in participating in the one-on-one study can do so with consent. Visitors are welcome to drop by anytime to watch the demonstrations and learn how research works, whether or not they choose to participate in a study. Keep in mind this isn't a typical museum activity—the live studies happen one family at a time. The program runs on select Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays throughout the semester, with breaks on certain dates. It's a unique chance for kids to see real science in action and potentially contribute to developmental research.
