VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown

VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown at Downtown Location

VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor demonstrating research projects from the National Living Lab network, led by Dr. Marcia Winter. You and your family are welcome to watch these demonstrations and learn how researchers conduct studies. Later in the semester, there's also an opportunity to participate in a one-on-one live study about children's pre-writing skills, run by Dr. Virginia Chu from VCU's occupational therapy program—though this requires your consent and happens individually with one family at a time. This isn't a typical drop-in activity, so come prepared to observe research in action. If your family is interested in participating in the live study, you can do that during your visit. The demos run on multiple days and times throughout the week, making it fairly easy to fit into your schedule. It's a unique chance for kids to see what real research looks like and potentially contribute to actual studies happening right in front of them.
