VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown

VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor sharing real research happening through the National Living Lab network, guided by Dr. Marcia Winter. Later in the semester, they'll also conduct a live study focused on children's pre-writing skills, led by Dr. Virginia Chu from VCU's Department of Occupational Therapy. Families are welcome to drop by and watch the demonstrations to learn how research actually works. If your family is interested in going deeper, you can participate in a one-on-one live study (with your consent). Keep in mind this isn't a typical museum activity—the live studies happen individually with one family at a time, so there's a more focused, research-oriented feel. You're free to observe and learn regardless of whether you decide to participate in a study.
