VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown

VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown at Downtown Location

VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor sharing their research findings through hands-on demonstrations. Led by Dr. Marcia Winter, these students are part of the National Living Lab network and will showcase what they're learning in their studies. Later in the semester, Dr. Virginia Chu's occupational therapy team will also conduct a live research project focused on children's pre-writing skills. Families are welcome to drop by to watch the demonstrations and learn how research actually works. If your family is interested in going deeper, you can participate in a one-on-one live study session (with your consent). Keep in mind this isn't a typical museum activity—the live research is conducted individually with one family at a time. You're always welcome to observe and ask questions, whether or not you decide to take part in the hands-on study component. This is a great opportunity for kids to see real science in action and understand what university researchers do.
