VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown

VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown at Downtown Location

VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor sharing real research happening through the National Living Lab network, guided by Dr. Marcia Winter. Later in the semester, you'll also see a live study on children's pre-writing skills led by Dr. Virginia Chu from VCU's Department of Occupational Therapy. Your family is welcome to watch the demonstrations and learn how research actually works—no special knowledge needed. If your child is interested, you can participate in a one-on-one live study (with your consent). Keep in mind this isn't a drop-in activity like typical museum offerings; the live study sessions are individual and limited to one family at a time. You can observe and learn anytime during the scheduled hours without committing to participation. This is a great chance to see university research up close and understand what goes into scientific studies.
