VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown
Hands-on research demos from VCU at the Children's Museum of Richmond—explore science in action.
Come watch VCU psychology students share their research in action at the museum! Led by Dr. Marcia Winter, these demonstrations showcase studies from the National Living Lab network. You and your family can observe the research process firsthand and learn how scientists study child development. Later in the semester, Dr. Virginia Chu's occupational therapy team will also be conducting live studies focused on children's pre-writing skills—families interested in participating one-on-one can do so with their consent.
This is a unique educational experience rather than a typical museum activity. You're welcome to drop by to watch and learn, or your child can participate in an individual research session if you'd like. Sessions run throughout the week at various times to fit different schedules. This is a great option for curious families wanting a behind-the-scenes look at how real research happens and supporting university learning.
