VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown
VCU Living Lab Research Demos – Downtown at Downtown Location
VCU psychology students will be on the museum floor sharing demonstrations from their research studies through the National Living Lab. Led by Dr. Marcia Winter, these students will explain their work and give visitors a chance to see the research process in action. Later in the semester, Dr. Virginia Chu's occupational therapy team will also conduct a live study focused on children's pre-writing skills. Families interested in participating in the one-on-one study can do so with their consent.
You're welcome to drop by anytime during the scheduled hours to watch the demonstrations and learn about the research—no registration needed to observe. If your family wants to take part in the live study, know that it's conducted one-on-one with limited spots available. This isn't a regular museum activity, so come with the understanding that you'll be supporting real academic research while your child engages with the process. It's a great way to see how scientists work with young learners.
