Vine to Glass: The Architecture of Autumn: Earth, Forest Floor, & Volcanic Shadows in Richmond
As fall arrives and the desire for richer flavors takes hold, this evening program invites adults to discover the complex world of savory wines. Led by sommelier Justin Ferguson, you'll explore how terroir—the environmental factors that shape wine—creates those deeper, earthier profiles: damp forest floors, truffles, wild mushrooms, and volcanic undertones. The experience pairs these sophisticated wines with an elegant six-course backyard barbecue dinner, creating a complete sensory journey through autumn's flavors.
The all-inclusive fee covers six wine tastings, your full dinner, a complimentary wine glass, and gratuity. Members pay $90; non-members pay $108. This event is for adults 21 and older only. If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, register at least one week ahead so the kitchen can accommodate your needs—menus are finalized seven days before the event, and later requests cannot be added. Pre-registration through the garden's website is required. If you need accessibility support to participate, contact the garden ahead of time and they'll work with you to arrange accommodations.
